Incredible premise with that turn at the "you'll grow bored and fall in line" part. The way the Nulls casually dismiss the narrator's rebellion by saying everyone goes through that phase adds such a chilling layer of futility. I actually started thinking about all those people who vanish without explanation in real life, and now i dunno if i can look at reunions the same way. The bit with the paper cheese was perfekt foreshadowing too.
